In design, modern styles tend to produce a more masculine tone. The mother and daughter commissioning this project made it clear they did not want to live in a man’s world.
We also had to meet the neighborhood expectations of a cottage-like appearance. While the massing does fall in line with its surroundings, a glass garage door along with the blue front door give an indication of what is inside.
Clean lines with warm white walls are an elegant backdrop for art and furniture to pop. Sculpture pedestals and specific lighting are laid out to organize a gallery throughout the first floor. Rich walnut floors and sparkly crystal lighting help to make the rooms feel more feminine without having to splash pink in every room.
